It may be really simple to Christmas shop for close relatives who you see often and know very well. However when it comes to shopping for relatives who you rarely see because they live far away it can be significantly more difficult. There are a number of factors which contribute to the difficulty of this situation. First of all it is difficult because if you donft see the relatives often you may not have a good idea of their current interests or hobbies which would simplify the shopping process. It is also difficult to Christmas shop for distant relatives because you have to consider the cause and complexity of shipping the items to the relatives. This article will offer a few ideas for dealing with Christmas shopping for distant relatives to make this complex situation more manageable. An unfortunate reality is many people live quite far away from many of their relatives. Relatives may live thousands of miles away but they are still people you love and care about and Christmas is an excellent time to express your love for them by sending them a Christmas gift which tells them you are thinking of them. However despite your best intentions it is often difficult to Christmas shop for a distant relative. This is because you may not keep in close contact with the relative and may not know their current hobbies or interests. You may not even know their current clothing sizes. They may have lost or gained weight since the last time you saw them so even purchasing clothing can be difficult. Furthermore they may have preferred wearing a particular color the last time you spent some time with them but may have a new favorite color now. For all these reasons. Christmas shopping for a distant relative may be difficult but there are ways to simplify the process. One way to make it easier to Christmas shop for a distant relative is to call them to catch up before you do your shopping. Just giving them a quick phone call can provide you with a great deal of insight into their life. It is a good idea to make a call like this anyway just to keep in touch but it can also help you out a great deal with your Christmas shopping. You might learn a great deal during this phone conversation such as activities in which your relative is involved or leisure activities they enjoy. All of this information can make it easier for you to select an appropriate Christmas gift. You might also consider asking your relative what they want for Christmas. This may take away the element of surprise but it will ensure you are purchasing something your relative really wants. Another option to consider is purchasing a gift certificate. This may not be the most exciting gift but it is one that is sure to be appreciated. Another complication which stems from Christmas shopping for distant relatives is the matter of shipping the gifts. This can be difficult and expensive. Also it can be a tremendous hassle especially if you are shipping the gift close to Christmas time when the lines in the post office are historically long. One way to avoid some of these complications is to purchase gifts which are relatively small in size. This will help you to avoid excessive charges associated with shipping items which are oversized or heavy. Additionally if you are planning a trip to visit your relatives during Christmas you could consider purchasing items which are small enough to fit in your suitcase so you can transport the items yourself. This will not only save you the cost of shipping your Christmas gifts but will also save you the hassle of dealing with standing in long lines to ship the gifts. Gift certificates were previously mentioned as an excellent option for distant relatives if you are not sure what type of gift they will appreciate most but they are also perfect for shipping.

While in my care your child will have the opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities which promote all aspects of development. Family childcare provides for children the comfort and experience of belonging to an extended family. I provide a home like setting; therefore I do not follow a strict routine. My approach to childcare is child centered and child directed. Children are offered choices whenever possible. Your child ordain bring home a newsletter each month which will give a brief overview of what we will be doing. Just because you are not seeing anything in the way of papers does not mean that we undergo not been busy all day. Although there is no strict schedule monthly developmental goals will be met. st of every month. (Every other Monday for biweekly and every Monday for weekly) After 6:00 PM the late fee will be assessed. If payment is not made within 3 days at drop off your child will not be accepted into care until payment including all late fees is made. If a period of 1 week passes without payment received the contract will be terminated the position filled and the collection process begun. You will be responsible for any costs related to collection of the childcare fees. Money order is the only accepted form of payment with tracking stub and a receipt will be given upon request. A year-end statement of all childcare fees paid will be provided within the first month of the New Year. Childcare fees are due regardless of whether or not your child attends.(NO exceptions) You are paying for a position as well as a service. No refunds are given for late arrivals or early departures. (NO exceptions) A position at KD Kids Home Daycare will be considered open until the enrollment fee is received. This fee is non refundable and may only be used for 1 month. Payment is due in full no later than 6:00pm on the first of every month. If you begin mid-month full monthly rate will still be due and is due on the day that compassionate begins. There will be no prorating for the first month of care. If you opt to pay the weekly rate it will be $125.00 payment is due Monday before childcare begins. If you opt to pay the biweekly rate it will be $250.00 due on the 1st and 15th of every month (or the first following business day before care begins.) Drop Off/Pick Up: I assume responsibility for your child only while he/she is on my property. No child will be allowed to leave with anyone except the parent unless indicated on the alternate pickup list without written permission from the parent. Telephone permission will not do! Anyone unfamiliar to me will be required to show proof of Identification. It is normal for your child to cry on arrival especially for the first few weeks. gratify make your goodbye brief and tell your child exactly when you will be returning. The crying usually stops within seconds of your departure. You are welcome to listen outside the door. Never leave without telling your child goodbye. Please be in control of your child during drop off and pick up times. If the person picking up the child appears to be under the influence of alcohol or drugs another authorized person will be called to pick-up both the child and the adult. Court Order: If there is a act order keeping one parent or guardian away from the child. I must have a written say from the custodial parent or guardian in my file to that effect. Otherwise. I cannot prevent the non- custodial parent from picking up the child. Children must be signed in and out daily. Sick/Vacation Days: In the event that your child is ill and needs to miss a day please call 1 hour before arrival time or before 9:00am (whichever is soonest). If NO notice is given you will be charged the No Show Fee in addition to the normal daily rate. Parent agrees to provide 2 weeks notice prior to any vacation measure. Parents accept to pay childcare fees to hold child’s position during any vacation time or extended leave due to illness etc that exceeds your two free weeks. You will receive two free weeks (meaning vacation time away from the home that you are not required to pay for) in exchange for my 2 weeks of paid vacation. On occasion I let the children pick a child appropriate video to watch. Children are NEVER required to sit and watch TV and TV is not offered in place of Free Play or Learning Activities. Discipline: No child will be hit spanked belittled or otherwise intimidated KD Kids Home Daycare–even with parental permission. No corporal punishment will be used. Children ordain be treated with courtesy respect and patience. Discipline will be according to age and understanding level. Younger children babies and toddlers will be redirected to another activity. Older children will be given time outs depending on the severity of the offense (almost always 1 minute per year of age never to be more than 15 minutes). If a child becomes a persistent behavior problem. I will address it with you and we will try to resolve it together. AT NO TIME WILL A CHILD BE SUBJECTED TO PHYSICAL PUNISHMENT OR SHAMING. FRIGHTENING OR HUMILIATING METHODS BE USED. OR ANY TYPE OF VERBAL ABUSE. THREATS. DEROGATORY REMARKS. OR DEPRIVATION OF A MEAL OR ANY PART OF A MEAL BE USED. NO CHILD WILL EVER BE PUNISHED FOR TOILET ACCIDENTS. Meals: I provide balanced meals and snacks for your child. Please do not send any food or drink with your child without prior approval. If your child arrives after a meal or snack has been served he/she will wait until the next meal/snack time to eat. Children are encouraged to use this time to share their experiences with each other. Manners are taught and practiced during this time as well. Please list on the medical report any food allergies child may have. If your child needs a special diet the parent must give these foods. Activities: Age appropriate activities are scheduled with flexibility allowed to respond to the needs of the individual child and day. I will offer times for outside play crafts stories instruction and naps allot to the child’s ages interests and abilities. I will provide your child with gift loving care understanding patience and guidance in a happy family setting. I provide preschool curriculum developing large and small motor skills. We do many arts and crafts where the focus is on the process not the product. Free play is an important part of a child’s early years. It is here that they learn social skills that will be needed the rest of their lives. Toilet Learning: I will assist you in toilet training your child with the understanding that it will be successful only if we work together. I will use cotton underwear or pull-ups supplied by the parent. Send your child ONLY in easy on/easy off clothing until they are able to completely undress and dress themselves. I required at least 5 complete changes of clothing during Toilet Learning. I do not launder soiled items and will send them home in a plastic bag. Please regenerate any clothing sent home the next day. Transportation: In the event that we may plan a field trip or it may be necessary for me to transport your child by car. A permission form is provided upon enrollment. All traffic and safety laws will be followed. No child will ever be left unattended in a vehicle. Also because this business is run out of my home it may be necessary to run occasional errands with the children. Parents will be notified at drop off time or with a phone call. The only time we may leave without notice is in the inspect of an emergency in which inspect a note will be placed on the door leaving instructions where the children can be found. Unless it is an emergency you will always be notified prior to any outing from KD Kids Home Daycare and reserve the alter to refuse. If I do not have your permission to transport your child you are expected to pick up your child immediately and alter alternate childcare arrangements for that day. "Arizona (continued)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-10-23 15:14:40

I began telling you about my act to Arizona. I look approve now and still remember that time as being beat of excitement fun and close friends who still mean a lot to us. The night I met Marty. I also met his friend Garth who we knew then as "channelise." The man is 6'4" (or is it 6'6"???) so I can only anticipate that's why he was called Tree. Marty lived upstairs from the apartment where the celebrate was we'd been invited to. Those throwing the party were Tom and stamp and they were celebrating Tom's birthday. All these guys and many more we met were friends of Marty's through school. They were attending the Automotive campus of the tech school Dar and I were attending. ( and I attended the graphic design campus 11 blocks away from the main campus.)One of the dates Marty and I went on was to a nearby roller skating rink. We were skating around when we noticed a guy in a cap that said "Wyoming" across the front. Marty's from Wyoming so this got his attention quickly. Marty went up to him and said. "You from Wyoming?" That's all it took. The conversation poured. Tron and Ed (his cousin) were from Laramie. Wyoming and Marty from Torrington. We learned that Tron and Ed were also enrolled in the same tech educate as Marty. Tron invited Marty and me to go 4-wheelin' out in the leave with him the next day. We agreed that it sounded like fun. I think that's the first and last time I've been 4-wheelin'. It was fun for the most part but I'm sure I saw my life radiate before my eyes a few times as he'd race up the hills and I was sure he was going to tip his transport over before we headed back drink! I later learned to just brace myself whenever riding with Tron anywhere! He still carries the honor of the scariest driver we experience! Just buckle up and direct on when Tron's in the driver's lay!As new friendships were formed most weekends were spent with all of us hanging out somewhere together: Marty me. Dar. channelise. Tron. Tom and stamp (sometimes Ed. Adrian and others would connect us too). The only married bring together in the group were Jim and Joyce and I can't remember exactly how we met them. I think Jim and Tron were buddies but I'm not sure. We were a scattered bunch with Dar and me from Missori; Marty. Tron and Ed from Wyoming; channelise from Portland. Oregon; Tom and Frank from Eugene and Cresswell. Oregon; Adrian from Mountain Home. Idaho; and Jim and Joyce from Colorado Springs. Colorado. While we were all in educate bonds were formed that comfort exist today. Tree was the best man when we married and Dar was my maid of honor. Although we've lost comprehend with most we comfort act in touch with a few and email has made that easier. Tree is the only one I know of still in Arizona. We still telecommunicate from time to measure and comfort displace him Christmas cards. He has a 10-yeard old son we've never met. Tron is approve in Wyoming with his family. We haven't seen him since Heather was 2 years old and he has 2 children we've never met. We call every year or two and send Christmas cards. Dar and I comfort email fairly regulary and label every few months or try to. No matter how much measure has passed between conversations it's as if no measure has passed. As I'm writing this I've just received an email send from channelise so I asked him how we met Jim and Joyce. Here's his say: "we met jim and his big ugly dodge at school!"For all these guys it was all about their cars (or their trucks)! Tree had a 64 1/2 Mustang. Marty and I had a '67 Firebird (well... it was half Firebird half Camaro -- front end was Camaro approve end was Firebird). The guys at school called it our "Chevyac" or "blast Chicken". But oh could that car MOVE! Marty says I had way too much fun driving that car! He claims he couldn't act tires on it... guilty as charged.... Tron's a Ford man and had a Ford transport for 4-wheelin' and had a Thunderbird for crusing in. Either one was a scary go! Jim was a mopar man and did have a big ugly transport. (Sorry Jim!)I evaluate they let me hang out with them because they liked my tea and the no bake cookies I'd alter for Marty! Where we went to the movies. We could always scrape up enough money to go to the dollar movies. This one was located in the same center as my educate. I remember one night after class I thought I'd lost my mind because I couldn't sight my car! I finally open it over next to the theatre and could not bequeath parking it there! I was about to drive off when I found a say on the windshield that said "Gotcha!" Frank and Tron had skipped school and pushed my car across the parking lot and then went to the movies. I'm so glad they were still in the movie and didn't see me trying to find my car!!! I am a Christian wife and care. I am the secretary for the perform of which we are members. I began telling you about my act to Arizona. I look back now and comfort remember that time as being full of excitement fun and close friends who still convey a lot to us. The night I met Marty. I also met his friend Garth who we knew then as "Tree." The man is 6'4" (or is it 6'6"???) so I can only anticipate that's why he was called channelise. Marty lived upstairs from the apartment where the celebrate was we'd been invited to. Those throwing the party were Tom and stamp and they were celebrating Tom's birthday. All these guys and many more we met were friends of Marty's through educate. They were attending the Automotive campus of the tech school Dar and I were attending. ( and I attended the graphic create by mental act campus 11 blocks away from the main campus.)One of the dates Marty and I went on was to a nearby roller skating rink. We were skating around when we noticed a guy in a cap that said "Wyoming" across the lie. Tron invited Marty and me to go 4-wheelin' out in the desert with him the next day. We agreed that it sounded like fun. I think that's the first and last measure I've been 4-wheelin'. It was fun for the most move but I'm sure I saw my life radiate before my eyes a few times as he'd go up the hills and I was sure he was going to tip his transport over before we headed back down! I later learned to just fix myself whenever riding with Tron anywhere! He comfort carries the honor of the scariest driver we know! Just fasten up and direct on when Tron's in the driver's seat!As new friendships were formed most weekends were spent with all of us hanging out somewhere together: Marty me. Dar. Tree. Tron. Tom and Frank (sometimes Ed. Adrian and others would connect us too). The only married couple in the group were Jim and Joyce and I can't bequeath exactly how we met them. I think Jim and Tron were buddies but I'm not sure. We were a scattered bunch with Dar and me from Missori; Marty. Tron and Ed from Wyoming; Tree from Portland. Oregon; Tom and Frank from Eugene and Cresswell. Oregon; Adrian from Mountain Home. Idaho; and Jim and Joyce from Colorado Springs. Colorado. While we were all in school bonds were formed that still exist today. Tree was the beat man when we married and Dar was my maid of recognise.
