I live with cats from different places that I adopted at different times. They nap and play all day and saved my sanity. Bujang came one rainy afternoon 3 years ago on 25th Sept 04. He was 6 weeks old and very scared and angry. Now he is very calm sociable and steady. Akira came from the SPCA on 20th February 05 when she was 5 months and she is Bujang's most staunch ally. Totoro whom I adopted on 1st Mar 06 is kind gentle and a friend to all. I rescued Megat from the bowels of a dark and dingy carpark on 13 Dec 2006. The vet said. "Your cat is 10 years or more." He became 10 years old. He is very loving and loves to sleep on warm cushions and warmer hearts. Rocket Tanaka is named after the celebrity chef Jun Tanaka. He came to us on 18th November of 2007 at 2 months. He eats us out of house and domiciliate and tries to bully everyone. I am lucky to have them all. The following text will not be seen after you upload your website, please keep it in order to retain your answer functionality This was what I had done to the cat tree this evening. I think any cat worth his/her salt would know it would be dangerous to lean in the wrong way. We will see what will happen. I still have to get the two planks but it might be difficult as the workshop is already packed and in the new premises. Aiyah... If this fails. I would just have to remove the bed and nails and Bujang would have his fav cat tree back at the window. Megat can have the cat bed as Bujang's snugs are coming apart at the seams from wear and tear and laundry. Since Megat likes the snugs. I am sure he would act to this cat bed just as easily.

"Butch and His Cat Tree" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2008-01-16 01:18:39

Butch was my solid grey half-Siamese cat who weighed 18 pounds. When we moved into an apartment. Butch missed climbing the pine trees outside our front door in Missouri. We now lived in the city so Butch became an indoor cat. He started to scratch on the furniture and ran from dwell to room. We bought one of those scratching poles that was about 18 inches tall. It didn't bring home the bacon. The first time Butch tried to use it he pushed it over. After that. Butch abandoned it. I tried rubbing it with catnip. Butch would sniff and rub against the scratching pole but he preferred to adjoin the furniture which stayed upright. Something had to be done and soon. Butch was quickly shredding our new furniture and it wasn't even paid for! I was afraid that the walls of the apartment would become the next victim. My husband came up with a solution. He bought an 7.5 pay conjoin of 4 by 4 inch wood affix some cast aside plywood a sturdy bracket (to hold the shelf) some kind of large nut and bolt and a piece of carpet that coordinated with the apartment. He built a carpet-covered tree inside the apartment! It had one shelf about 3 feet from the floor. About two feet from the ceiling was a box that had holes cut into four sides. The hole facing the lower shelf was large enough for Butch to jump into. Everything was covered with cover. The move went into a hit in the top of the affix and allowed it to be tightened up next to the ceiling. Every six months the tree had to be adjusted so that it was once again vertical. As my husband built the tree. Butch sat nearby watching intently. He seemed to know that this was something special just for him. As soon as the tree was finished my husband installed it. After pausing at the furnish of the tree to adjoin. Butch ran up and down it. Butch scratched the lower 3 feet of carpet so much that it had to be replaced every year or so. It's difficult to say where Butch liked beat the top of the box (where he could look out the window or hit us on top of our heads as we walked by) or the carpeted inside of it (where he was warm and hidden). The money spent on the cat tree was certainly a negociate. It didn't cost much more than the small ones that pet shops sell but it was more than twice as large. I can't think of anything we had that gave Butch more pleasure. When we had two cats they would chase each other up and drink that tree. No query the move had to be tightened! There's plenty of time to create a cat tree and give it to your cat for Christmas. Start searching for the carpet this weekend. "hit us on top of our heads as we walked by)" This sounds like something my cats would do. That is a great idea! We ordain be replacing the carpet in our house with pergo soon and I evaluate we will save the cover to build a cat tree! I evaluate Butch lived a good life. I've tried to have a bring together of cats since him but became frustrated because none was as cause to be perceived. I've decided that I'm going to undergo to buy an old-style Simaese or sight a half-Siamese. IMO the new Siamese are nothing more than large hairless rats. Can you express that I hate them? Wiley and Foofur never would use a carpeted scratching post no matter how sturdy it was. Finally I figured out they preferred sisal (Foof) or expose wood (Wiley). Foofur also prefers his scratchers to be horizontal rather than vertical. Now all the cats use the cardboard scratching posts sold at PetSmart and Trader Joes. Foof comfort has his horizontal sisal one.

"Cat Tree #03" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-12-20 19:38:19

Bujang came one rainy afternoon 3 years ago (25th Sept). He was 6 weeks old and very scared and angry. Now he is very calm sociable and steady except when he has to be groomed! Akira came from the SPCA (20th February) when she was 5 months and she is Bujang's most staunch ally. Totoro (1st Mar) was named by ksn after a forest sprite in the animated film Indeed Toro is kind and gentle and a friend to all. Megat I rescued from the bowels of a dark and dingy carpark on 13 Dec 2006. The vet said. "Your cat is 10 years or more." Since I like go numbers he became 10 years old. He is very loving and loves to sleep on warm cushions and warmer hearts. They tolerate each other and live together quietly. I am lucky to have them all. Grandma told me no one sat in the Cat Tree #02 version. I guess Bujang had not gotten over his fall and the rest of the amigos just distrust it. They do sit on their usual cat tree - the one on the left. I got this when Bujang was about 6 months and now he is 3 years old and many times his old coat too. The only one who can fit quite comfortably on it is Ms Akira. Megat has yet to sit on it. I thought I would just try to use one plank for them to lean on and they can actually just lean on the window grill (covered by the curtains). So it would allow them some curve-time I think. I have to see what happens. I have put the cat bed together again with the original fleece pillow. I have to see if Megat takes to it. Thanks but none of the amigos took to it at all. Bujang gave up after falling off that one time. So I just discarded the whole DIY idea and put Bujang's cat tree approve near the window. He was quite pleased and immediately jumped on it to look at the corridor :)I think I will just continue to look for something for them unless I can get some one to actually alter me one :)

"Cat Fight (Tree-Hugging Liberal Rant)" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-22 00:22:12

Hello my label is Kyri. I'm a birder and I love cats. There's this news story right now about a local birding magnate in Texas who shot a cat that was stalking Piping Plovers. I have three words for this:Felony. Animal. Cruelty. I believe in keeping cats indoors and that's where I act mine. And Piping Plovers are endangered and probably not incidentally are really bushel cute. But Piping Plovers are not endangered because of cats. Their natural predators -- bobcats foxes coyotes various mustelids not to mention falcons and accipiters -- have been reduced by human persecution but plovers have evolved for millennia and their ancestors evolved for millennia before them to deal with predation. Migrating birds are not wimps. They aren't naive island species that undergo developed away from the need to detect and flee predators. A hunting cat is something they can deal with. I have to wonder if Mr. Cat Serial Killer (this being apparently not his first) would have blown away a Sharp-Shinned deal engaged on the same business of feeding itself. For those wanting to protect migrating shorebirds. I'd consider the following: people who drive trucks on beaches for "recreation"; the oil industry (who just spilled however many hundred tons of egest all over San Francisco Bay); the fuckheads (forgive me. "people") who want to expand the oil industry to ANWR; the builders and patrons of high-rise coastal hotels and casinos; the corporations and governments of Central and South American countries that act to use highly toxic pesticides even DDT; industries that release toxic expend into the ocean and greenhouse gases into the sky; industries and governments that refuse to set meaningful pollution standards for industry end "development" of open lay or demand that all vehicles including commercial trucks meet specific fuel and emission standards by a specific date (desire yesterday). And when one's done with them. I doubt there will be any ammunition left to breathe out away alley cats. Here's a thought to chew on (and you forgot wolf kills in Idaho and Montana!):If the most abundant natural resource is mankind's stupidity (followed by short-sightedness ecological arrogance and obliviousness) .. how can intelligent populate tap into it and enjoin it into doing something good?Or is it merely an entropic sink a lead charge of vast size that must be beat to accomplish great things?I need more coffee... :)Pssst.. the old wolf's gotten himself engaged :=)

"Cat Tree Category Title Image upload" posted by ~Ray

Make sure you undergo the latest version of Scott's module - then you should be able to export a register with the format you need. I was about to say the same that Leslie shared. I would not recommend using ad-hoc provisioning files change surface for a 'seasoned' avid user such as myself. My affect - while it worked - turned out to be unnecessary with Scott's module. Although a provisioning file might be used for the category tree image. Scott's module - I believe - should give the functionality you're looking for (with the category call visualise). Tim. "Featured Review: Green Duck Cat Tree with Tunnel" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-05 18:31:45

From climbing hiding and exploring to scratching lazing and lounging this cat tree with compete tunnel has it all! Our Cat channelise with Play Tunnel features multiple levels and is ideal for multiple cat homes. Features heavyweight construction of plywood and OSB stryated come in with stain-proof fade-proof carpet. Offered in a variety of colors. "We've been looking for a tall tree to accept our cats to look out a high window. Most trees just didn't feel sturdy enough to support our big fat cat and our smaller playful cat. This tree has enough weight at the furnish that there is little come about of it wobbling or tipping. Both cats immediately took to it and are having a roll climbing all over. We're also impressed by the price for such a good quality tree (especially with the free shipping deal!). I'd definitely advise this cat tree for people worried about stability." "THIS PRODUCT IS AWESOME FOR CATS KEEPS THEM BUSY AND HAVE SOMETHING TO PLAY WITH. THEY LIKE TO CLIMB AND THIS GIVES THEM SOMETHING TO SCRATCH ON OTHER THAN YOUR CARPET AND FURNITURE. THEY GO CRAZY ON THAT TREE AND KEEP THEM BUSY FOR HOURS. I evaluate IT IS A WONDERFUL ITEM FOR HOUSE FOR CATS." "First my mommy cat discovered the cat tree with tunnel she enjoyed perching herself on the highest tier and now her three little kittens at five weeks have discovered it as well. They like it!They wrestle in the tunnel climb up the poles and have a blast. It's so much fun to check them at play. It was a great investment! It's strong sturdy and totally bear and cat friendly. Purrrfect!Tricia Whitham" "I bought this at my local Petco hold on. I undergo 3 cats and needed something to accommodate them all. Each cat picked out there own level and the "king" got the tunnel. I would recommend this for any cat family." "Although I don't have this particular model. I highly -- highly -- advise a tree like this one. Not only does it provide great playful stimulation but each shelf provides a "natural" resting displace for kitties who always like to sleep in a "safe" place. High trees with lots of shelves are highly recommended." "It's a great product. The appearance looks great it's neat! Not too complicated for my wonderful kitty. Rice Rice! He loves it in the first place he was jumping around the cat tree and then slept on the top shelf like a lion king. In terms of the quality. I think the locate is strong enough to drop heavy charge like my big kitty who is only 1 year old but weight desire more than 10lbs. However alter sure the place you put the cat tree is where your kitty likes my kitty didn't compete with the cat tree after moving to another area. Overall. I like it my kitty is not scratching my nice chairs anymore he likes the cat tree more now. ^^" "Had this product for only two months and the top two tiers came loose and wouldn't stay tightened no matter what we tried. The tiers finally came off and there is no way to ameliorate them!!! My kitty is very disappointed that he can't get up on the top. All that's left is the furnish part with the tunnel underneath. It's going to the curb next week because it's just in the way. I will never consider this mark again."

Great visibility for kitties. I like how I can open the small part on top and reach in and pat my cats when at the vets. I evaluate they get pretty nervous and it helps. Everyone that see's the avior carrier likes it. Most importantly my cats desire them. Really big opening for them to get in and out of."
