Thankfully its the weekend again tomorrow arn’t the weeks just flying by! 36 weeks now well officially tomorrow but i’m not that sure they have the right due date anyways but that is what they work off of… Yesterday A had some things on so he didn’t work but he got up early and took H for a walk to the park apparently they had a great time and H must have had a really great time cos he fell asleep on the rug in the lounge at about 11am and didn’t wake till 12:30pm. So cute poor little guy of course it meant he didn’t have his afternoon nap but thats ok. Our Christmas cards are now made i decided not to pay to use the template on that site and we made them ourselves they turned out pretty good and i have free photo prints with an online shop so basically its only going to cost $5 which is pretty good. Just have to buy some envelopes and start addressing them now otherwise they won’t get sent at all I also finished the calendar i made of H for some of the rellies for christmas looks good on the screen so hope it looks that good when its printed. Today we have nothing much on as usual. H is watching a tv show and playing with his toys i think i’ll bake some anzac biscuits later i have to change the sheets on our bed and H’s and there is probably lots of little cleaning things i Tomorrow Tilly is off to the vet for her vacs and we have to get some flea treatment for her as well. Dad doesn’t really do his own christmas shopping these days and normally i would do it for him but my sister is this year but obviously she can’t buy her own present so i have to find her present tomorrow as well. but “apparently” in the whole of our area there is only one style of train and it has to many small parts that he would swallow so my sister doesn’t want to get it pain in the bum cos i have seen loads of wooden ones that would be just fine for him and he would love it cos he loves trains at the moment so now i’m getting him that for his birthday because i know what H can play with and such whereas they don’t and dad is getting a cool play doh centre a water pistol and a potty Sunday we are going to a bbq at a friends place and then its another week to get through. I have the doctors appt next week at my antenatal clinic and need a blood test as well and i think i might go to my gp as well and get another script of maxalon which will also be my last. The end is near I’ve started my Christmas shopping but I haven’t even given a thought to Christmas cards yet. Sometimes I wonder what would happen if I just didn’t sent any but then I’m stuck with N and J’s school pictures which I had planned to put in some of the Christmas cards. Play-doh is disgusting stuff. It gets tracked all over carpeting and gets worked in well. I got smart on year (when we got a picnic table) and I made a new rule that Play-doh is only for outdoor use. N and J love the stuff. So far I’ve kept it hidden from K so she doesn’t know how much fun it is. She’ll figure it out soon enough. I can’t believe how fast this year has gone either. I’m looking forward to finding out the gender and name of your baby you’ve done a good job of keeping us in the dark! I can sort of understand your sisters reluctance to buy the train set (unless she has an ulterior motive) I was thinking that most of them are marked as ‘Not for Under 3 years old’. Even though I have kids I wouldn’t buy something not recommended for under three years old for another persons two year old. Even if you said it’s OK…. what if something did happen? With my sister its more that she is saying there is only one train set in town and it probably isn’t appropriate the set i have seen is wooden and doesn’t have many small parts that his toys don’t already have so it would be fine i could have just bought it myself dad would have given the cheque so then she wouldn’t have had the worry if something did happen but i think he will get loads of use out of the playdough anyways so its cool. I think i was more annoyed at the toy she wanted to get him instead lol a guitar thing that would have driven me nuts…

"Cdn. Readers - NO new President's Choice Train Set this Christmas" posted by ~Ray

Thank you for contacting us concerning our PC Train Sets. It was kind of you to act the time to email and we apologize for the delay in responding. Unfortunately there ordain be no train set released this year. However, there will be a special Anniversary Edition Train released next year. (The next train set ordain be coming out during the Holiday Season of 2008.) We defend for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your interest. Mr. Elms we value your feedback. Please contact us in the future with any other questions or comments. I went on their site this morning to see what gives but saw no reference to a Christmas series of toys or gifts. So your news is not unexpected but disappointing none-the-less. Are these the IHC sets? If so there seems to be something going on with them. Their web site was down for over a week. Much of their stuff is listed as out of stock. Even the new locos they have advertised in MR. They seem to be selling some N scale loco's too. Hopefully they are gearing up to come out with some higher quality offerings like their 2-10-2. Can you imagine how they will totally move up the looks of an anniversary set. I am picturing something really ugly extremely unprototypical and loaded with advertising schemes. I'm an N Scale modeller and just a collector of these H. O sets. I wish they never consider sets in N Scale. We've got our own problems with the MTL 'soda pops of the world' and such series'. Doesn't surprise me in the least. Think about it all of the sets are MEhano Loco's and Mehano hasn't released anything new this year so it stands to reason we weren't going to get a new loco. Oh come up I comfort have a 2-10-2 from last year who knows a 2-10-4... http://community webshots com/album/136764488eBxZiNhttp://www trainboard com/railimages/showgallery php/ppuser/5959/cat/500If one could roll back the hands of time... They would be waiting for the next train into the future. A. H. Francey 1921-2007 What's Target???? Hey folks these train sets seem to be along the lines of $35.00 starter train sets in a box sold at toy stores that last about 15 minutes with rough use how close to prototype are these sets??? remember you are buying a complete train set at a FOOD store does that tell you something??? Try picking up cover and milk at your LHS. Can you imagine how they will totally twist up the looks of an anniversary set. I am picturing something really ugly extremely unprototypical and loaded with advertising schemes. I'm an N Scale modeller and just a collector of these H. O sets. I remember the mini-chefs version from a couple of years back it was pretty ugly but the loco looked good tatans: Last years set seemed to be a pretty good one (IHC loco) for what you got from the feedback here. It sold very well too. Maybe Canadian Railway Modeler can do a go up on this and print an article (sort out of the scope of MR I would evaluate) they have commented on the past PC sets and noted that some have not sold well. Also the company that owns PC and its affiliates (Extra Foods. Real Canadian etc) is in some financial problems and has been busy re-structuring and re-focusing on key area so again this is not surprising. Keep on Trucking. By Train!Where I Live: Merritt. BCHobbies: Model Railroading (HO): CP in the 70's in BC and logging in BC Hey folks these train sets seem to be along the lines of $35.00 starter train sets in a box sold at toy stores that last about 15 minutes with rough use how close to prototype are these sets??? remember you are buying a complete train set at a FOOD store does that tell you something??? Try picking up bread and milk at your LHS. These sets have been made by Mehano in Czechkoslovakia the same firm that makes IHC locos. Not the top end models but quite far from the really cheap train set ones. Locos have been cosmetically decorated and detailed in Canadian railway colors and while a fair distance from the prototype aren't all that bad. The sets sold in Canada for $99.00; the similar IHC locos alone were offered for around US$135.00 so the sets were a decent deal. The cars are train set quality, with truck mounted horn hook couplers and mostly disposable. Same for the tiny cater pack and the track. Up to last year's set the track was an oval of brass changed to nickle sliver in the 200 set. 12 pieces of snap track not too bad if you could use it. I usually offered mine for sale at local shows. Then after Christmas I found the 4-6-4 Hudson set from the 2005 Holiday season on sale for $49.99. I bought 2. Quite a steal. I thought. I was looking forward to the new one. I see that I am not alone. Well here's some humour - Presidents Choice is apparently sponsoring the 'Big Blue Train' go in the Toronto Santa Claus parade this weekend. I guess someone in their marketing department thinks they're still selling trains! Just another example of how much work the Loblaws companies have to get their supermarket business back on the rails! (pun intended!!) I have a couple sets from Christmas presents past from my grandparents in Toronto... we don't have Loblaws here. I haven't really found them anything to die for but I still occasionally run the steamers found in the sets. I haven't really found them anything to die for but I still occasionally run the steamers found in the sets. I know this is an old post but it came up in search for Christmas sales. I bought the 2-10-2 measure Christmas for $99. It was my first loco as I started the hobby but even then I could see that while the loco might look nice the be of the set was crap. Don't pay anyting more than $40 or so for a set just to get the loco if you really really want one. In one year I undergo learned a lot and 63 locos later know that I would never buy an IHC when I could put the money toward a BLI plastic or a Proto Heritage steamer. My 2-10-2 runs well is not quite accurate but if I had my $99 back again. I would put it toward somethihg better. I don't know if I completely agree with you. I bought three of these sets last year and kitbashed two of them to look more prototypical for the money they run just as good as the $150 to $200 Locos. I've got two of last years and two of the year before's and I'm happy to have them.

Try picking up bread and draw at your LHS. These sets have been made by Mehano in Czechkoslovakia the same tighten that makes IHC locos. Same for the tiny power pack and the track. Well here's some humour - Presidents Choice is apparently sponsoring the 'Big color Train' float in the Toronto Santa Claus parade this weekend. I guess someone in their marketing department thinks they're still selling trains! Just another example of how much bring home the bacon the Loblaws companies undergo to get their supermarket business back on the rails! (pun intended!!) I have a couple sets from Christmas presents past from my grandparents in Toronto... we don't have Loblaws here. I haven't really found them anything to die for but I still occasionally run the steamers found in the sets. I have a couple sets from Christmas presents past from my grandparents in Toronto... we don't have Loblaws here. I haven't really found them anything to die for but I still occasionally run the steamers open in the sets. The PC brand items are sold in Western Canada through Real Canadian Superstore and Extra Foods so they are available in most medium to large centers (our town has a population of about 7,000 and we have an Extra Foods). Keep on Trucking. By Train!Where I Live: Merritt. BCHobbies: Model Railroading (HO): CP in the 70's in BC and logging in BC Yes. I know this is an old post but it came up in search for Christmas sales. I bought the 2-10-2 measure Christmas for $99. It was my first loco as I started the hobby but even then I could see that while the loco might look nice the rest of the set was egest. Don't pay anyting more than $40 or so for a set just to get the loco if you really really want one. In one year I have learned a lot and 63 locos later know that I would never buy an IHC when I could put the money toward a BLI plastic or a Proto Heritage steamer. Just my humble opinion. http://community webshots com/album/136764488eBxZiNhttp://www trainboard com/railimages/showgallery php/ppuser/5959/cat/500If one could roll back the hands of time... They would be waiting for the next train into the future. A. H. Francey 1921-2007 I agree with Fergie the locomotives run great right out of the box look great but could use a little kitbashing and are easy to convert to DCC. The rest of the set is garbage. I've got two of last years and two of the year before's and I'm happy to have them.

Of course you'd evaluate that at that moment I began to like design my own trains sets and became a christmas train set enthusiast. Well not exactly. I played with that oval track and for a good while but as all thing in childhood. christmas train set could give was the limitations of a child’s imagination – in other words there is no limitation. Pretending to engineer a real train or through snow covered mountain tunnels and over long bridges over deep canyons a christmas train set can give hours of endless fun for your child. For this reason the christmas train set is an extremely popular pretend compete toy in any season. There are so many ideas for your child to change his or her christmas train set. We often use cotton balls and empty thread spools for our christmas train set to cart around the tracks and deliver all of the important “wool” and “barrels of oil” to the many who need them. An engineer hat that is always worn while engineering the christmas train set is another great idea for your child to look the part. However you and your child decide to use the christmas train set really doesn’t matter as desire as the play includes a healthy process of imagination.
