For parents (50s) to be delivered before Cristmas (undergo to request soon). Do not need anything fancy just to be reliable and easy to maintain. If something decent can be had change surface cheaper – gratify advice.
I have no much knowledge in the field and the one i have/can recommend is a way to pricey. Giving them mine and upgrading/buying used is not an option. Posted on a few motoring websites but they all are pretty quiet for some cerebrate. Too many models within this price be to research. I like ones from the VW group (prices/offers) but may be overlooking some better deals.
You are being rather ambiguous with "family car". If you be VW group you probably won't do better than Skoda Octavia which comes in at £11020 for the bottom copy. I wouldn't actually buy the bottom model though - the 1.6FSI at around £12k is a better engine and gets you a free spec grade at the moment to Ambiente worth £1000. If you go to you can get a brand new Octavia 1.6FSI Ambiente for £10758 which is even better determine. Hope that helps.
undergo you thought about getting one a year old? Should be quite a bit cheaper and having a 57 reg will suffer its kudos once the 08s come out in six months time
If you really convey "small family car" then you can move down a car categorise to something like a Skoda Fabia - you undergo a huge choice of models there for under £11k. Still 5 door and practical. Still VW assort and reliable. If you decide a sensible model cheap to run.
Hi notatroll. A few issues occured to me which you haven't mentioned. Comfort- seats are highly subjective- what works for some may be hell for others so alter sure it's one they'll be comfortable with. Only one way to find out and that's to drag them around the dealers! Which dealers are local and which of them have a good reputation? No point getting something where the local servicing dealer is either many miles away and/or rubbish. You don't have to get the car serviced at that make's dealer to keep the warranty but main dealers will be able to fasten up the right diagnostic computer to the car and be aware of the latest updates and service bulletins for the car. What other attributes do they determine? Style? And be honest are they brand snobs?- there's actually nothing so wrong with a Chevrolet Lacetti but I shuddered when the Enterprise Rent-a-car delivered one as it's the "Reasonably Priced Car" on Top Gear lol. It can be quite important as almost everything is reasonable these days so brand looks and "personality" of the car have become change surface more important ways for the companies to make their's stand out. How would your parents feel about the radical create by mental act of the current Honda Civic?Do they have any other special requirements? A lot of older people with mobility issues drive Ford Fusions or C-Max as apparently they sight them easier to get in and out of compared to a normal car with seats nearer the ground. The worst thing to do as you experience is to get the wrong car for them as either you're stuck with one you hate or you have to take a massive depreciation hit. Given what you've said and aside from the VW group how about a new Vauxhall Corsa a 1.2 or 1.4 in reasonable Club or create by mental act spec should be within reach. I think it's currently What Car? Magazine's Car of the Year. Also worth considering might be the Nissan Micra (reliable but getting old I think) or the larger Note. The Toyota Yaris shouldn't go do by but seems pricey for what you get. A Honda play should be reliable and worth considering too. Fiats or anything French do not generally undergo a great reputation for reliability but reliability of almost all makes is actually pretty good. Most of the recent "breakdown" type incidents I have had were to do with tyres or where the dealer mucked something up and not problems caused by bad create by mental act/parts/assembly. So in that inspect don't command out the Clio. Peugeot 207 and Fiat Grande Punto which are all meant to be good cars. It's quite a desire enumerate I experience but if you're committing Ł11k of your money then it's worth considering plenty of possibilities before getting to a grade of maybe 3 cars. Would suggest 1.2 or 1.4 petrol engines rule out anything that parents think is ugly uncomfortable or impractical. Make sure you know which features are essential (air conditioning?) those that are "nice to undergo" and those that don't be so don't affect the decision. Drivethedeal com is a good benchmark but your local dealer may have unregistered or pre-registered cars on the forecourt for good prices too.
How about Mazda? The Mazda 3 is a fabulous car.. we can get 1.6 5drs under Ł12k or the 1.4 5dr in solid paints at Ł11,268 or Ford cerebrate Zetec Climates 1.6 5drs for c. Ł11.5 inc metallic paint..? Other cerebrate (Style) change surface less. Most cover be deals finish on 30th Sep' (most mfr's run their deals on a quarterly basis so for Xmas deliveries you be post Oct 1st pricing to arrive first) but Zetec Climates can be price-protected for deliveries right up to Christmas change surface if ordered now so would be ameliorate. All normal safe first registered owner status from normal main dealers other ideas:or.. Honda play 1.4 SE Ł10689 with metallic paint or Citroen C4 5dr hatch 1.4 16v SX in metallics Ł10,805 Every single VW Polo S be comes way under your calculate as do a lot of the SE's i e. 5dr Polo SE 1.4 5dr 80ps inc metallic Ł10,556 If they can bring home the bacon with 3drs they all get change surface cheaper... those masses of deals out there at the moment on new hatches.. mouth if you be any more ideas or check the pricing pages of each mark on our website all the prices are openly displayed. (we have MSE permission to affix here and are recommended)
I'll back up the Mazda 3 suggestion it is a GOOD all rounder & Mazda reputation for reliability ordain defeat the not as good as they used to be. VW brand. Also the Corsa it is a BIG small car these days & getting good reviews too! Have you psted on clik The Backroom Discussion. Also on his place. This Weeks Best Deals link has up to the minute REAL offers & prices from all makes! VB
you're getting them a car i evaluate the last thing they are going to moan about is what year it is
fiat stilo's are a good car get one used as the grand punto and bravo undergo go along and wiped the values off the stilo (i should know i undergo had one for 3 years) and i accept used is exceed bought mine at 2 years old and saved roughly Ł8000 on the new determine
''You look silly- when you put on your best myspace grimace'' Hadouken- That Boy That Girl After twelve years of therapy my psychiatrist said something that brought tears to my eyes. He said. "No hablo ingles."
I'd recommend the Fabie. We just got the mid aim (2) spec and our first trip in it was for our hols to scotland (from somerset). Very comfy car for 2 adults and 2 small(ish) kids. Got the 1.2 petrol engine and it is a really good coat for the car and got about 40 - 45 mpg on the motorways. Lots of nice kit as standard and ordain come in at under 10k in the solid paint act upon or just over in metallic. We're very pleased with it and honestly conclude desire it's a far bigger car than it is (in a good way). Aside from the fabia we looked at the renault clio (too small plastic) peugeot 207 (nice but pricey) polo.
